U.S. House of Representatives Resolution 1319 (“American Rescue Plan Act of 2021” or “ARPA”) was signed by President Biden on March 11, 2021 at which point it became Public Law No: 117-2. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 included $350 billion in emergency funding for state, local, territorial, and tribal governments related to the COVID-19 public health emergency (“State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds” or “SLFRF”), including a one-time allocation to the City of Laguna Woods in the amount of $3,791,656.
As a non-entitlement unit of local government that was allocated less than $10 million in SLFRF funding, the City of Laguna Woods is required to submit a project and expenditure report to the U.S. Department of Treasury by April 30, 2022 and annually thereafter until all funding is spent.
