AlertOC is a mass notification system designed to keep Orange County residents and businesses informed of emergencies that may require immediate life saving actions. Residents may also choose to subscribe to non-emergency messages from the City of Laguna Woods and other participating cities or agencies.
By registering with AlertOC, time-sensitive voice messages from the County of Orange (including the Orange County Sheriff’s Department) or cities in which you live or work may be sent to your home, cellular, and/or business telephone. Text messages and/or email addresses may also be sent to certain devices.
AlertOC is operated by the County of Orange in collaboration with local cities.
While certain 911 telephone database information is already a part of AlertOC, Laguna Woods residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to register additional telephone numbers and email addresses, as well as to “opt-in” to receive non-emergency messages. Please keep in mind that contract information you may have provided to private mass notification systems (e.g., Laguna Woods Village’s CodeRED emergency notification system) is not automatically registered with AlertOC or vice versa.
