CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

SPECIAL MEETING

May 30, 2002

2:00 P.M.

 

 

  1. CALL TO ORDER

 

Mayor McLaughlin called the Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Laguna Woods to order at 2:00 p.m.

 

  1. FLAG SALUTE

 

Councilmember Bouer led the Flag salute.

 

III.       ROLL CALL

 

COUNCILMEMBERS            PRESENT:       Bouer, Ring, Ross, Hack, McLaughlin

ABSENT:        None

 

STAFF PRESENT:                City Manager Keane; Deputy City Attorney  Wohlenberg, City Clerk Condon

 

The City Council recessed the public meeting to go into closed session at 2:02 p.m.

 

  1. CLOSED SESSION

 

The City Council met in closed session to confer with its property negotiator, Leslie Keane, with regard to the terms of a possible acquisition of property located in the general vicinity of El Toro Road and Aliso Creek Road, pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section 5495.8.

 

The meeting was reconvened at 2:45 p.m.

 

City Manager Keane discussed the California Coastal Conservancy Grant of $2.65 million and reported that the City is working on several conditions of the grant.

 

Moved by Councilmember Bouer, seconded by Councilmember Ross and unanimously carried to:

 

  1. Adopt Resolution 02-16 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAGUNA WOODS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL CONSERVANCY TO FUND THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY

and

 

  1. Approve a draft agreement with Rossmoor Partners, Ltd. to purchase approximately 10.6 acres of real property in the vicinity of El Toro and Aliso Creek Roads, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute the agreement subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:52 p.m. to the Regular Meeting of the City Council at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Laguna Woods City Hall, 24264 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, California
